About

The Afghan Business Council (ABC) is a private sector, non-profit organization established in Dubai in 2005 to represent and support the Afghan business community in the United Arab Emirates. Founded by distinguished Afghan businessmen, traders, and entrepreneurs, ABC serves as a formal platform that brings together over 170 members registered with the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The council was created to collectivize ideas and interests while promoting investment opportunities and strengthening economic, cultural, and social relations between Afghanistan, the UAE, and the broader Middle East region.

ABC plays a vital role in Dubai's diverse business landscape by facilitating dialogue between UAE-based Afghan entrepreneurs and stakeholders in Afghanistan. The organization provides investment guidance, market intelligence, and networking opportunities for both investors and entrepreneurs interested in Afghan markets. With an annual trade flow of approximately 10 billion USD between Afghanistan and Dubai, ABC members represent one of the most influential Afghan diaspora business communities globally, operating across diverse sectors including trade, construction, agriculture, financial services, and manufacturing.

Mission & Mandate

The Afghan Business Council's mission is to strengthen Afghanistan's economic progress through a vigorous private sector active in a vibrant free market economy, while fostering collaboration between UAE-based Afghan businessmen and the international business community.

Key Objectives:

• Persuade UAE-based Afghan businessmen to invest in Afghanistan and create joint investment ventures that contribute to the country's reconstruction and economic development

• Provide comprehensive investment guidance and present a broad picture of Afghanistan's political, economical, social, and technological landscape to potential investors and entrepreneurs

• Strengthen business relationships between the Afghan business community in Dubai and business executives in Afghanistan, while heightening awareness of Dubai's commercial position in the Middle East

• Increase foreign investment and trade with Afghan companies by facilitating dialogue, organizing seminars, conferences, and business matchmaking events

• Serve as a reference point and information aggregator for Afghan individuals and companies operating or intending to establish activities in the Emirate of Dubai

• Support the Afghan business community through networking opportunities, knowledge-sharing activities, and by promoting industry best practices across diverse sectors including private investment banking, capital markets, insurance, construction, and agriculture
