The Dubai Costa Rica Business Council is a non-profit organization established in January 2024 to strengthen the economic, trade, and investment relationship between Costa Rica, Dubai, and the United Arab Emirates. Founded after years of robust diplomatic and trade ties between the two nations, the Council serves as a strategic platform that caters to the private sector needs of both countries, facilitating meaningful collaboration between businesses, government entities, and key stakeholders across both regions.

Operating under the umbrella of Dubai Chamber of Commerce, the Council plays a vital role in Dubai's international business ecosystem by promoting bilateral trade opportunities and fostering cross-border partnerships. The organization focuses on creating dialogue and cooperation mechanisms that unlock commercial potential in priority sectors including renewable energy, logistics and infrastructure, advanced manufacturing, technology, food security, agribusiness, and tourism. With the landmark UAE-Costa Rica Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) signed in 2024, the Council serves as a crucial bridge for businesses seeking to leverage enhanced market access and reduced trade barriers.

The Council's establishment represents a significant milestone in strengthening Central American-UAE economic relations, with non-oil trade between the UAE and Costa Rica reaching $82.6 million in 2024—a 27.5% increase from the previous year. Through strategic initiatives, networking events, and business forums, the Council connects Costa Rican businesses with the UAE's world-class logistics network and positions them to access broader markets across the Middle East, Asia, and Africa.

The Dubai Costa Rica Business Council is committed to fostering and strengthening economic, trade, and investment relations between Costa Rica, Dubai, and the UAE. The Council creates platforms that facilitate collaboration, dialogue, and partnerships between businesses, government entities, and stakeholders in both regions, built on the strong values of shared and lasting prosperity that unite the two nations.

Core Objectives:

• Trade Facilitation & Market Access: Promote bilateral trade flows and help businesses navigate the benefits of the UAE-Costa Rica CEPA, including tariff elimination, simplified customs procedures, and enhanced market access for goods and services.

• Investment Promotion: Attract and facilitate foreign direct investment between Costa Rica and the UAE, identifying opportunities in strategic sectors such as renewable energy, technology, advanced manufacturing, logistics, and agribusiness.

• Business Networking & Partnership Development: Organize high-level business forums, networking events, and B2B meetings that connect companies from both markets and foster meaningful commercial relationships.

• Advocacy & Business Support: Represent the interests of Costa Rican businesses operating in Dubai and provide support services, market intelligence, and guidance to companies seeking to enter or expand in either market.

• Knowledge Sharing & Capacity Building: Facilitate the exchange of best practices, industry insights, and expertise between business communities, while organizing workshops and seminars on key economic and trade topics.
