About

The Singapore Business Council (SBC) is a non-profit organization established in 1999 and registered with the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Founded with the support of the Embassy of Singapore in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General of Singapore in Dubai, the SBC serves as a vital platform connecting Singaporean professionals, businesses, and enterprises within the UAE's dynamic business landscape.

Managed by an Executive Committee comprising volunteer Singaporean professionals residing in the UAE, the Council serves approximately 4,000 Singaporeans in the region. The SBC functions as a bridge between Singapore and the UAE business communities, facilitating meaningful connections between professionals, enterprises, and both public and private sector entities. As a member of the ASEAN Business Council Alliance (ABCA) since 2016, the organization collaborates with business councils representing expatriates from the Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia, further strengthening regional business networks.

Through strategic partnerships and collaborative initiatives, the SBC organizes seminars, workshops, and networking events that foster knowledge exchange and business development opportunities. The Council plays an instrumental role in enhancing the visibility of Singaporean professionals and businesses in the UAE market while providing members with insights into best business practices and emerging opportunities in the region.

Mission & Mandate

Enable the building of mutually beneficial relationships, and facilitate knowledge-sharing amongst professionals, public and private entities.

Core Objectives:

• Facilitate Networking: Create networking opportunities for Singaporean professionals residing in the UAE with other business entities, groups, councils, and semi- and government bodies

• Knowledge Sharing: Keep the business community and members updated on best business practices in the UAE, and provide knowledge-sharing sessions that help the community thrive

• Increase Visibility: Enhance the visibility of Singaporean professionals, brands, and businesses in the UAE through conferences, exhibitions, panels, and industry events

• Build Partnerships: Collaborate with various partners to connect Singaporeans, expatriates, enterprises, and communities across the UAE

• Regional Collaboration: Strengthen ties within the ASEAN Business Council Alliance (ABCA) framework, fostering cooperation among business councils from Singapore, Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia

• Professional Development: Organize seminars, workshops, and informal networking opportunities that support professional growth and business expansion in the region
