About

The Dubai Digital Assets Association (D2A2) is the Middle East's first dedicated not-for-profit industry group focused on the digital asset ecosystem, encompassing cryptocurrencies, blockchain technology, and regulatory policy development. Established in 2023 under the umbrella of Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, D2A2 serves as a vital platform for businesses, regulators, and enthusiasts across the UAE and broader MENA region to collaborate on shaping the future of digital finance.

D2A2's primary role is to strengthen the digital asset industry's contribution to UAE's economic development by providing a unified voice for companies operating in this space. The association facilitates constructive dialogue between industry stakeholders, policymakers, and regulatory authorities including VARA (Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority), enabling members to address market challenges, align strategic ambitions, and access global growth opportunities. Led by Chairman Gaurang Desai and a board of prominent industry leaders, D2A2 promotes the principles of accountability, integrity, and transparency while supporting Dubai's vision to become a global capital for digital economy and innovation in financial technology.

Mission & Mandate

D2A2 aims to position Dubai and the UAE as a regional hub for digital assets by creating bridges between the digital asset industry and the global economy through collaboration with international counterpart organizations.

Core Objectives:

• Industry Promotion & Transparency: Promote the digital asset industry in Dubai while boosting transparency through market intelligence, strategic research data, and analysis for stakeholders, the private sector, policymakers, and government entities

• Regulatory Dialogue & Policy Development: Foster constructive dialogue between regulators, businesses, and industry participants to contribute to policy clarity on tokenization, custody, cross-border innovation, and regulatory frameworks

• Business Growth & Cross-Border Cooperation: Support the interests and growth of digital asset companies while fostering international cooperation to integrate the regional industry into the global economy

• Education & Public Awareness: Educate the public and elevate financial literacy on blockchain technology, real-world asset tokenization, and digital assets to bolster access to and advancement of technology for all

• Standards & Best Practices: Promote the highest professional and ethical standards while supporting industry efforts to improve quality, environmental sustainability, energy management, and investor protection

• Stakeholder Engagement: Provide exclusive platforms for networking, roundtable discussions, and knowledge-sharing events that bring together industry leaders, regulators, and service providers to address shared challenges and opportunities
