IBG functions as a strategic platform for insurance professionals to network, collaborate, and advance the interests of the insurance industry in the UAE. The organization facilitates meaningful dialogue between industry stakeholders and regulatory bodies while promoting professional standards and best practices across the sector. Through its elected Board of Directors, comprising representatives from various segments of the insurance industry, IBG ensures balanced representation and addresses the specific needs of different professional categories within the membership.
The organization plays a vital role in Dubai's business ecosystem by organizing informative seminars, workshops, and training sessions on critical industry topics, publishing newsletters and thought leadership content, and fostering cooperation among member companies. IBG also actively works to raise public awareness about insurance, supports Emiratization initiatives within the sector, and maintains strategic relationships with international, regional, and national insurance associations and institutions.
Mission & Mandate
The Insurance Business Group is dedicated to advancing the insurance industry in the UAE through collaboration, professional development, and advocacy. The organization works to strengthen the sector by fostering cooperation among stakeholders, promoting ethical business practices, and facilitating meaningful engagement with regulatory authorities and the broader business community.
Core Objectives:
• Industry Cooperation: Promote collaboration and knowledge-sharing among insurance companies, brokers, consultants, actuaries, and loss adjusters to strengthen the collective capabilities of the sector
• Self-Regulation & Standards: Evolve and implement self-regulatory frameworks in core areas of business to maintain professional integrity and industry best practices
• Education & Training: Advance insurance training and professional development, including public awareness campaigns on workplace safety, road safety, and other critical risk management areas
• Industry Dialogue: Provide a structured forum for deliberation on general and specific challenges facing the insurance industry, facilitating collective problem-solving and policy development
• Emiratization Support: Actively facilitate and support the employment and professional development of UAE nationals within the insurance sector
• Strategic Partnerships: Establish and maintain productive relationships with other business groups within the Dubai Chamber, as well as international, regional, and national insurance associations and regulatory bodies
• Public Awareness: Enhance public understanding of insurance products, services, and the industry's role in economic development and risk management
